10 November 2015 a shipyard worker was killed and seven were injured in a fire which broke out on an LPG carrier being built in the same dry dock as RFA Tiderace. It took the local fire brigade nearly an hour to control the blaze. A South Korean Government investigation into the blaze resulted in all work in No: 8 Dry Dock being suspended and delayed the launch (float out) of RFA Tiderace by nearly three weeks.
